Outdoor Toilets In Winter.

Recommended Posts

We had outside toilets back in the 50's, two toilets in the back yard shared between six families in the tenement.

With the slum clearances we were moved out to the new estates in the suburbs......inside toilets, central heating, electricity, hot AND cold water, it was like winning the pools !

When I got married 45 years ago today, we got an old pit house. It has one of those kitchen/bathroom/toilet extensions and still had the outside toilet, which came in handy sometimes !

when I first went to the Middle East in '78....well, I'd rather not reflect on some of the holes in the ground that masqueraded as toilets ! ?

Cheers.

Second pic reminds me of my grandma's inside toilet when I was little, she had bed pans too. It was like going back in time, she used to have pheasants etc hung under the stairs till their heads were dropping off ?

I remember going round once and my older cousin was sat on the couch plucking ducks ?

I got caught short while on mole patrol last week. This is what I found.....

Obviously it was't on its side. I can't get the photo to rotate.

This one was spotless. Some look like the American air force have bombed them.

Pakis have started putting them in round here, in the old outside toilet, or building a little block extension to put it in, so they can use the old bathroom as an extra room in the house. They obviously just use some cowboy Arab builders who smash into the soil line, rats just jump out of the hole ?

If your ever in Hounslow, Southall, Tower hamlets, similar places you sometimes see footprints or wads of toilet paper laid around the pan where people have stood on the rim of the bowl.

I had the misfortune to work for a company called Toyoda Gosie in Rotherham and even though they installed a squat toilet for them they still used our toilet in the way you describe i used to go through the fire doors and have a tom tit behind an elderberry bush on a bit of waste ground rather than use the toilets their.

On Saudia Haj flights coming from the third world, they didn't even know what toilets were. They simply put a pillow on the floor between the rows of seats and pissed and shit there.

Cheers.
