mark.a 0
Not really much to do with this topic I know JD, but just interested to know what is the height at the shoulders of scooby and what percentage of saluki to greyhound is he, also has he any whippet in him. He looks simaler to the dogs I keep but I imagine Scooby to be a little bit bigger at about 25" As its hard to put the pictures in perspective. Thanks Quote Link to post

J Darcy 5,871
you are, of course, quite, quite correct mate...its just a guess that she broke where she did and did exactly the same thing last time...and she beat him last time too....they "always" spring from the top end of the wood and we nail em.....normally flatten them all on this land even with 150yd slips brummie and RRUK will testify that  but i should have said "i believe this may be the same deer"....apologies for any confusion......JD Quote Link to post
mark.a 0
Thanks for the reply JD one of my dogs is a greyhound/whippet x saluki but is a lot smaller obviosly with the bit of whippet in it. They look simaler but it just shows how photos can be deceptive. Yes its true what you say about deer nearly always making their gettaway along the same route. A couple of years ago I used to lamp a spot for foxes alot and at the top of this field in a hollowed out hedge sometimes there would be a green pair of eyes watching me about 2 or 3 hundred yards away that would vanish. When out in the daytime at the same spot with my dog running off the lead he shot off after something I thought was a fox, when i got to the other side of the hedge I saw it was a roe he was after but the deer had broke too soon for my dog to make up the distance (i,am not making excusses for my dog) but this happened several times and "it always took off along the exsact line". In the end my mate came over to help flush the roe to me so my dog could intersept it ,but there was no sign off it. We tried several times but it had gone. Later I found out when relating the tale to some local lads that they had beaten me to it! Theres a moral in there somewhere! Quote Link to post
tiny tim 22
nice pic,i know how hard it is to get good action shots <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you had of got your camera out of the van last year you would of had pic of the century <{POST_SNAPBACK}> your right i had the chance of a shot of a lifetime but even if i had had a camera<left it in the van>i dont think i would have took many shots.. i was just stood there with my mouth open..couldnt believe what was happening Quote Link to post
LDR 29
Awesome pics JD, that second one does look like the job is done, but like peter says it'd get boring if we got everything we ran, some of the best courses i've had are the ones that just get away. By the way i managed to locate extreme lurcherwork in the end, they are selling on ebay for over £40... Quote Link to post
Guest HAWKEYE
GREAT SNAPS JD....Hunting animals like that is a pleasure as it is a sure sign of quality stock coming through...as mother nature says the best should only breed with the best.. Quote Link to post
