Corkman 944
For ALL Northern Ireland Hunting, Fishing, Shooting or Rural Community supporters. We all need to share this attached link to every hunting, fishing, shooting and farming organisation throughout Ireland both North and South. Any political party that backs this Bill need to be targeted and MLAs, TD’s and Councillors need to realise they will be directly affected starting with John Blair and the entire Alliance Party, then any other party that supports this Act. Time to start waking up and protect our way of life!! Doing nothing and leaving it to others is not an option! All of us has a duty to work and fight. If this Bill gets through it will affect all hunting in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland down the road. See link to Draft Act Below. http://www.niassembly.gov.uk/globalassets/documents/legislation/bills/non-executive-bills/session-2017-2022/hunting-of-wild-mammals/hunting-of-wild-mammals---as-introduced---full-print-version.pdf Edited November 9, 2021 by Corkman 10 1 Quote Link to post

Corkman 944
So what are WE supposed to do? Sit back and let a handful of ignorant Antis who have found a weak puppet politician to roll out their twisted lies and bigotry. We turned things around in ROI with some hard work and belief in what we are about. Where are all the hardy hunting men who love their game, cherish their workers and spend as much time on the land as they can? It’s about time lads started to fight for what they believe in or lose it to a handful of snowflakes and dreamers. Our generation should be ashamed if we lose now what future generations should be entitled to do. I personally can’t abide by the roll over attitude. Fight the good fight. omegathelast 160
Corkman is absolutely right, apathy and doing nothing is no longer an option if you value traditional rural pastimes and all field sports. Similarly, the Scottish Government is also ‘consulting’ on tightening the ban which would alongside further restricting hunting with hounds, probably also result in ratting and rabbiting becoming unlawful. Yes, you read that right! The only way to combat these attacks is to engage in the debates; write/talk to the politicians and join organisations such as SACS and the CA but tel then why and what you expect from them. They might not be perfect but they are credible organisations. 3 2 Quote Link to post
Gypsydog94 4,561
Exactly right. They learnt from there mistakes in the English ban on hunting. Even after trail hunting. I do wonder how much the lacs have funded Quote Link to post
Evil knievil 48
There are more people involved in country sports than there are 'antis' in the real sense of the word. But we are a 'silent majority' whereas they are a 'noisy minority'. In general hunting/fishing people are quite people happy with their lot in life. It goes against their nature to be constantly onto politicians, online or outspoken defending their sport.... But the time has definitely come lads to stand up and be counted.... The alternative is the end to our traditional natural God given freedom to hunt and fish! Don't leave it to the next man, there's no point wishing we had stood up when we've lost everything. And shame on anyone who says why bother it's inevitable....we have more power than you think, we just need everyone to commit !! Ps. Cut out posting graphic images that paint the wrong picture, you're impressing no-one!! 3 Quote Link to post
stop.end 4,079
It's definitely time now for the northern Irish lads to step up to the plate and support is needed NOW.. This proposed bill is about to go through stormont very soon, we need to start making some good noises and be heard... because if we don't..it will be the beginning of the end...also a call for all northern Irish terrier men to get behind the IWTF and show solidarity.... The federation is already on the ball lobbying politicians draughting high quality literature for them to see the REAL side of pest control... Men have travelled long distances in the past month to fight on everyone's behalf... Dedicated men need dedicated supporters.... As corkman says.. there is realistically a few hundred I'll informed anti hunting people in the whole of Ireland.. There is thousands of hunting families in the whole of Ireland.. grandparents father's sons mother's daughters...and there extended families and so on... It's time we all stood up and let these politicians know they work for us because THEIR ELECTED BY US. We also need more support from the genuine no ego terrier men in northern Ireland.. if you want the IWTF northern number PM me to become a member of an organisation that will fight tooth and nail to keep what is not only a free service gladly welcomed by the farming and rural small holds and is the most humane and organic form of wildlife Management when done correctly there is... 7 Quote Link to post
sionnach99 1,259
I think a massive problem is Facebook. It is easy to point fingers and argue when the going gets tough but if we all pull together surely there is a way of getting on with things. Is there anyway members could collectively get together and get on to Facebook and get those pages down. North Carlow lurcher page is especially bad. Absolutely disgracefull. 5 Quote Link to post

The problem isn't Facebook, it's people's ego's. People love to boast and share what they do all over social media for a few likes from their "pals". Absolute clowns! 9 Quote Link to post
