Popular Post shovel leaner 7,650
The time has come for me to hang up my beaters horn , and retire from keepering. I spoke to the boss a few weeks ago and told him I’m making this my last season . We are parting on good terms and we haven’t fallen out , and I’m not going to another shoot , it’s just time to try something different. I’ve been here nearly 15 years, and I’m not getting any younger, I find that I’m just less enthusiastic about bagging wheat and dragging myself out of bed. Also I find being an “angry farmer”, constantly bollocking stupid dog walkers tiresome. Instead I’m planning a move to Cornwall , and get myself a fishing boat and spend my spare time fishing and the shooting season loading . I’m going to live the dream , life is too short to stand still . 20 1 Quote Link to post

I’m not getting a Harley or a sports car or getting my ear pierced or getting a younger Mrs . I’m keeping my old Hilux, I’m keeping my ageing and slightly decrepit wife , no piercings either. But I am looking at a second hand Wilson flyer if that counts? 2 3 Quote Link to post

I’ve never taken a boat out on my own . I’ve been on fishing charters before , but boat ownership and the sea / tides are new to me . Keep your eyes on the news “ idiot on boat , lost at sea” , I might if I’m lucky end up on one of the TV shows being rescued by the RNLI , if they’re not too busy ferrying refugees( economic migrants) from France. 3 Quote Link to post

If they find you bobbing about in the channel you might end up with a free house and on the rich list with the amount of benefits they chuck at you Quote Link to post
