poxon 5,741
Cost £4 each pup at a vet to have a two day old pups dew claws removed hardy a increase on price of pups or breaking the bank in anyway. I’ve had 2 litters done in the past for £4 a pup there’s no need for me to play about removing dew claws my self although I’m perfectly happy an comfortable to do them my self I think after 5days it’s a operation to remove them. I payed £160 to have a little Bedlington whippets removed once proper rip off bet it’ll be more for a bigger dog. I’ve seen some of the damage that can happen not having them removed everyone I was always associated with be it work or racing all say removed on a dog running for its living. If I went to view a litter of pups an they were expecting to be used for work or racing an I got there not knowing they still had dew claws id probably walk tbh unless that person wanted to sort a brother out cost for them to be removed. But hindsight is id not touch anything with them any how I can’t see the point in buying a pup for x amount then adding another £160-200 on top of that price to get them removed Quote Link to post
breeze 1,308
Can't argue with that price 1 Quote Link to post

dodger 2,765
It wouldn't be an absolute game changer for me n this isn't aimed at the op but I have had trouble with d c in the past n there's nothing worse than a good dog being put out of action due to a due claw injury at a critical time when you've got a good dog we're you want it n when it could easily have been avoided, so as said not an all out game changer n also depends how much you intend to work said dog but if there was 2 similar litters available n one wasn't due clawed I'd go for the litter that was n as someone mentioned they can be done for a few quid during there first vet check and I'd also question how much the parents had done n how much they intended to d. o with pup they keeping back Edited November 11, 2021 by dodger Quote Link to post

I personally don’t see the logic in paying the asking price for a pup then adding another 160-£200 down the road….it’s up to others what they do with there money I’m not saying my opinion is right or wrong but I know what Id expect if I was buying a pup its not what you wanted if it ain’t dew clawed tho bro 1 Quote Link to post
Daniel cain 45,512
No money in lurcher litters... personally I would of taken off the dewclaws at 2/3 days old...good luck with the pups %,their little beauties...and a fair price, will always get crabbers 1 Quote Link to post

C.green 3,231
Yeah i dont think id stick a pup round me with dewclaws when ya see them with them left on its just another thing to go wrong. Same when there nails aint been trimmed must be torture for the bitch Edited November 12, 2021 by C.green Quote Link to post
Ferretman65 2,250
I've always done my own pups dew claws at 3.days old never had a problem with them .
