Me tooooooo, the mag is only 8 shot which is a shame and a bit small for ratting but I understand Carm do their own version so will check that out, I can see I am going to need a few mags for ratting, hope they are cheap. They are rather like a small MK1 Impact, twist the top round, feed the first pellet from the other side then turn it back round and fill up.

It certainly feels nice in the shoulder.

Carm will not send to UK unless you spend £135

Why are you thinking about selling , are you going to hand in your fac or do you have to at your age ???

Don’t expect a reply yet  , people of a certain age will be in bed having Ovaltine or horlicks  ???

I have been in touch with Mark Dempsey to establish cost of a tune and carbon shroud/mod so after Xmas it will be going to have Marks magic touch just to make a good little gun even better.  Still lov

Just had a look on fleabay, the .22 mags on there look like ten shot?

My mistake they are 9 shot not 8.  I didn't know you have to spend so much with Carm, surely Mitch people who are buying mags for themselves must be able to buy what they need without spending £135.

No Phil I have asked the question

I wanted fx impact & crown mags  but unless I spend 135 notes they will not send them . So I probably will get them sent to south of France and pick them up next time I go over

When the rain finally stopped today, I took the P35 out into the garden to try it out. Now I should have cleaned the barrel but completely forgot about it until I was actually shooting so bugger it.  Using JSB Jumbo RS to start with, I set the zero and as my little cottage garden is limited to 15mt, that is where zero was to be.  As I said in an earlier post, this gun if I am to keep it will be used as a short range gun for rats and ferals so a maximum of 25mt is all it is likely to do so I would get a good idea of what groups I was going to get using a 15mt zero.

Zero done, I tested JSB, Exact, Heavy, Express along with the RS.  I would have tried others but I looked in my pellet drawer and to my surprise, I must have either used or given away the H&N  pellets but in truth I am not bothered as I just don't gell with them for some reason and neither has any gun I have owned so no loss there. Here are the results, each group is an eight shot cluster.

I was very happy with the results and the general 'feel' of this gun and even the small mag was not such a great issue but for sure I will need to buy a few for hunting.  One other thing that struck me was the air level, it is quite frugal with air and although I fired over 120 shots the gauge was still reading half way. I believe they are listed at about 180 shots per fill and although I have not verified this, it does look to be doing rather well on a fill.

I also ran a mag full of JSB RS through the Chrony resulting in an average of 636.2fps, a tad warm at 12.07fpe so that will need a tweek down a touch as I don't want it on ticket but will double check it with the rfd's Skan unit before doing anything.  I didn't fit a mod, partly because it was not noisy anyway but I would need an adaptor to allow for a standard 1/2'' unf but in all honesty, I don't think it needs one.

All in all, I like this little fella very much and even though I used a crappy MTC Mamba Lite scope which really is not good for daylight shooting as it has a bloom inside the lens. it worked well enough but I will want a Lightweight scope to sit on the P35 if I keep it ...........................................................WTF, ........................  I am keeping it.  I will pop on our Varmint scope Mitch to see how that works with the gun although I am thinking of putting that on my rimmy and selling the Vantage WA/SF which is cracking but the Varmint will be lighter.

If possible I want to pop over to one of my perms where ther are quite a few ferals and now the nights are getting a bit colder, hopfully there will be a few in the barns for me to test the gun a bit further.

Interestingly enough, I showed this gun to my wife in the rfd, now Trish is a clay shooter not a rifle shooter BUT when I passed her the rifle in the shop, she said 'ohhh I like this' which always helps but she was deeply involved reading a new book today however when I was doing some stuff outside, she picked up the gun now it has the scope and stated again how much she liked it ................................................................................... I bet this means I may need to buy two ?, I do hope I get an increase on my pension in the budget.

A couple of things which may come in handy from ebay are these.  An adaptor to fit an 1/2'' unf sound mod to the shroud and a rather handy picatiny rail to clip to the side of the gun which would be useful if I wanted to fit my nv rangefinder.

This JB3D Printed Barrel rail is made to suit the Snowpeak P35, it is split into two halves that attach together using 2 Nut and bolts. This rail gives the user...

Nice groups apart from exacts

get mark Dempsey to do his thing on it and get him to make shroud / silencer as well .
really things get about buying  one

haven’t had a new gun this year ?

Hang on Mitch, I will get the violin out.

This one has a shroud with conical aluminium baffles built in so not bad at all,  I do have a nice little carbon mod that was made by a local guy and the same dia as the P35 shroud so an adaptor would allow me to quieten this more however I will have a chat to Mark Dempsey to establish what he does and at what cost.

Looking pretty good Phil. What’s the cycle action/side lever like, smooth, notchy, tight, sloppy? Does it compare to the wildcat? Also the trigger, good, bad, indifferent?

Link to post

Trigger is quite comfortable with a clear difference between first and second stage, I don't have any scales to check it for pull weight.

The side lever is spring loaded for the first part of it's travel so by a small movement it will pop out to the cocking position and then the cocking motion is only about a further 35mm to fully cocked.  when the lever is at it's first position, it is quite sloppy compared to the WC but doesn't seem to present any issues at all.  I suspect Mr Dempsey could tighten this up if required.

I have to say the operating manual is rubbish and there seems to be no further info on their site.  Fill pressure is listed as 25MPa WTF is that when the gun's gauge is in bar pressure and this is explained any further in the manual or website. Now that is annoying.

Ah just went on a 'conversion' site, 25MPa is 250bar, why the f**k don't they just say that.
