philpot 4,967
Anyone got any feedback on the Artemis, now known as Snowpeak and the model concerned is the P35 which looks just like a Wildcat. I picked one up the other day and was quite taken with it, very light and sits well in the shoulder. Phil Quote Link to post
villaman 9,983
Phil , they are good , but they do need some work to them . Mark Dempsey is your man on them 1 Quote Link to post
philpot 4,967
I do like it Mitch and this one is s/h so a bit of room to tune it BUT I did look at the BSA Ultra CLX whixh is really nice and now this model lists a much higher shot count if we can believe BSA. I am going to borrow it from the shop and put on a scope then test it at home. What needs doing to them Mitch to get them right. Is Mark Dempsey a specialist on these Snowpeak / Artemis guns, could do with a link to find him. Phil Quote Link to post

I often look at these cheaper versions but at £600 I’m not sure I’d take the plunge. I’m usually of the buy once cry once, buy cheap buy twice sort of thinking. Half the price of a wildcat, but is it half as good? Might be better than half as good. Either way, it looks interesting Quote Link to post

On FB I posed the question and was met with some very good comments and several said once sorted by Mark Dempsey, they were superb. The one I have been looking at is a s/h .22 which I would only want for some ratting and feral shooting in and around barns plus we have two rat perms where the range is no more than 10mt max so leaving the fac at home is the only route to take and this is where the P35 would come in. I really do like the Ultra CLX but HATE bolt action guns preferring side cocking every day of the week and again that is where the P35 comes in but I am not kicking out the Artemis NP-02 or NP-03 for this type of shooting. I have just given back my pal's NP-02 which I have been playing with, cracking little gun, bang on target with pellet on pellet accuracy at 25mt which is the max I would use it but the one thing I do not like is the length of the 'over cylinder stock' really bloody long and I would have to fart around to reduce the length, not a major issue I know and for £350 as a short range gun with 200 shots per fill, very handy for ratting. Phil Second hand deal could be good. I was thinking £600 new then add whatever it costs to get it sorted (whatever that entails) and the price is going up to maybe a used wildcat or verminator etc.....that’s what I’d be considering Quote Link to post
villaman 9,983
£530 new then about £100 on it £630 . Roughly same price of a ultra which is not regged Quote Link to post

philpot 4,967
Me tooooooo, the mag is only 8 shot which is a shame and a bit small for ratting but I understand Carm do their own version so will check that out, I can see I am going to need a few mags for ratting, hope they are cheap. They are rather like a small MK1 Impact, twist the top round, feed the first pellet from the other side then turn it back round and fill up. It certainly feels nice in the shoulder. 1 Quote Link to post
