Innoculations-The truth ,the whole truth and nothing but the truth .

There still seems to be people who are willing to toy with the lives of their dogs by messing with jabs bought by post or giving them at the wrong age .Jabs offered for sale on the internet cannot be relyed upon to be what they claim to be or even in date .These jabs have a use by date and if used beyond that can adversely affect your dog ,being totally useless at the very least . Pups need the jabs shortly after weaning but not before .A 2 week break is needed between jabs to allow the pups immune system to cope with the first jab before the second jab is administered .At £45 ,this is not expensive ,compared to the vets bill in fighting one of the big diseases that nearly always end up with a dead dog .Let the vet do this one thing for your dog and piece of mind for you .

Not all home jabs are purchased of internet sites, some are bought over the counter and you save £30 per dog when you administer them yourself that can mount up. It is obvious that you should take notice on the date but you shouldn't buy expired jabs. But yes certainly for the inexperienced you should seek expert treatment and not take the chance.

Spot on in my view! If anyone does inoculate their own, care should be taken about the source and how the product has been stored, throughout. It may be well within the use by date, but vaccines can be susceptible to extremes of temperature, and while they may seem fine, could be useless. Personally I wouldn't use anything unless I had total confidence in the source(s). Yes, vets do have a very high mark up, but as mentioned above, the cost of cutting corners potentially could be far higher.

I also provide my vet with little or no business, apart from having pups correctly inoculated.
