Any Tilers Here?

Recommended Posts

I want some coloured grout. " Terra Di Siena " or " Burnt Orange " look about right. But, I can only find it in 10Kg sacks. I want to tile / grout a 48 x 18" counter top.

So, I'm wondering if there's anything else I may look for? Anything come in a tub or a tube?

I don't care about paying a score for the sack. It's just the principle of using  a mug of it and throwing the rest away

You can mix in acrylic paint to colour the grout.

How do we gauge the amounts? Is there a formula?

Personally i rather use stuff you have to mix yourself .

As above, really. Where do I even start?

Toolstations got mapei beige grout in 2.5 kg bags.

My head's about reaching melting point, by now, mate. Think I found their little bags? But, it appears out of stock. And, I'd be looking at darker. Maybe their 'Caramel' or even 'Terra Di Siena'?

What about mixing in the sediment from the bottom of your home brew barrel?

Actually; The stuff that blew out when I fermented my beer had some tones in it not a million miles from what I have in mind. Generally still too pale and beige though. And drosophila.

I see Mapei do something in a silicone tube? Wonder what that is? All seems to lead back to fukking Pintrest.

None anywhere close to me, mate. Shame, because they do this:

https://www.toppstiles.co.uk/matrixr/matrixr-grout-burnt-amber-2-5kg#selection.grout_size=2.5kg

Looks a possibility. Though I'd rather get a clearer look at the supposed colour. Square, to the right, looks okay. n the bag it looks more pink.

Anyway, they won't send.

All progressing now, mate ;) I know I said something on the main thread, the other day. I get lost, frankly, whether I've said something to someone, or typed it on here. But, yeah, moving forward nicely again, at last.

Coming week should see quite the advances :)

Thing is; It keeps popping into my mind that I'll have nothing to do, after this? But, then I remember - far from it! I have to turtles enclosure to build yet. Then, I have another little project that's been floating around since for ever.

Plenty to keep me occupied yet
