Its seasonal out here. At the moment it is fouine (pine marten) season with a lot of young foxes getting squished too. Badgers tend to be unlucky in winter and barn owls and coypu cop it in spring. Hedgehogs seem to prefer summer time to die on the roads even though they are active all year.

Went from J24 on the M5, Bridgwater, to J30 on the M5, Exeter, and counted 26 dead squirrels. Saw shit loads more coming back but didn't keep count. Squirrels defo need a 'Green Cross Code'.

I've actually thought this year I've not seen so many normally the trees behind my house are moving with the bloody things but I've barely seen any this year. I was hoping for them as I bought a air rifle couple months ago aswell

Last year and the year before that we had loads of the b*****d things but this year definitely not as many about. Although to be fair my little beddy whippet has become quite adept at catching them so that might have something to do with it

My pup is mad for them, he's only had 2 but hunts them relentlessly, trees them then barks like fook

Funny you mention that, I was out with the heythrop last week and the covers were exploding with roe.

I was up visiting Owain this weekend and we caught a squirrel on the top of a mountain a mile from the nearest tree, they really are everywhere

Being seeing loads nr me they have been crossing a road from a wood on to a local park that's heaving with horse chestnut that's another thing conkers seem to be earlier than when I was a kid collecting them to play conkers at school.
