What do yours eat?

one mainly lives on beef mince, the other won't touch it since he got an abcess in his throat, he pretty much lives on lambs hearts, fussy little fecker! he won't eat anything that isn't drenched in blood! when my bro has been shooting they both get bits of pheasant/hare/rabbit/pigeon, plus an egg every once in a while. the non-fussy one is rather partial to a bit of cooked broccoli. my old girl liked a bottle top or two of lager or ale occasionally. she was a bit of an alkie, when i kept her in my caravan she got pretty pissed one night - she dragged a quarter-full stella stubby under my bed, drank it, and staggered out sideways. no harm done luckily.

Interesting thread, amazing that so many say feed them what they would eat in the wild and then just list a carnivorous diet......In the wild polecats eat yes its true rabbits, rats, mice etc...they also eat frogs, eggs from ground nesting birds and in the appropriate season some fruit!

My ferrets when exercising in the garden have eaten my strawberries from my plants, they also like half an apple in their hutch to claw at and gnaw.

So to some up, my ferrets eat winged vermin i have shot, rabbit heads from when i have been ferreting, the occasional squirrel, when i have no meat they eat chudleys dried food, they also get a few egg's , bits of soft fruit and an occasional apple

Good to see yours get a true varied diet with a bit of fruit thrown in......i really think all ferrets should have some.

I know that most do not advocate feed in road kill but I once picked up a roe doe off the side of the road it must have been hit within the hour and it was a cold day gutted it and froze it lasted the ferrets for months (only had two gills back then), these days I'd have cooked it mostly my self as it was good meat. but I'd deffinatly advise people to look into Deer Road kill in the right cercumstanses.

Raw meat, mainly rabbit and pheasant.

Feed them a natural diet, cant see the point in feeding what looks like sweetcorn (which is very undigestable)

im giving them beans NOT orange sweetcorn? :wallbash:

Ohh well, thats alright then

What ever works for you I suppose..
