tatsblisters 9,775
Found some fly agaric this morning Arry and this growing on an ash tree it looked as though it was covered in velvet. No idea what could have been taking a bite out of the agaric though.

Just looked up the bracket fungi growing on the Ash. Its a Shaggy Polypore mate. Cheers Arry Edited October 12, 2024 by Arry
Arry 21,918
This is a new Mushroom for me growing on a dead Elm. I thought I had found some Pink Oyster mushroom but as soon as I cut one and turned it over I knew it wasn't as the gills don't run down the stalk. So looking it up its called "Wrinkly Peach" Not for eating unfortunately. Cheers Arry

Thats a pretty big Field mate. Found a few nice Horse Mushrooms today mate. Stotted them from the other side of the valley. Don't take many to fill the basket. This Button Horse has a nice example of the cogged wheel they go on about. Also nice smell of Aniseed. Cheers Arry.
Arry 21,918
Out today was hoping for some Ceps but no luck on that front. Seen this coming up in the Grass another I had to look up "Fairy Fingers" I did get a feed though some Horse Mushrooms and couple of handfuls of Terracotta Hedgehog Mushrooms. Terracotta Mushrooms is a good safe mushroom as the only thing similar is the bigger Hedgehog Mushroom that white. Both have no gills they have spikes that you can just brush off. These were under some Hazels on a bank. Cheers Arry Edited October 21, 2024 by Arry
Arry 21,918
Out for a fungi mooch today. Well loads of fungi about today not for taking some deadly ones. The Brown Rimroll mushroom and the Panther cap. Then The Cloudy Funnel classed as poisonous but only 1 in 5 people get ill. Not about to try it. Then I'm 99.9% sure this is the Miller but I don't take yet smells of bread dough. Other stuff seems to grow in the same area I often find Cep/Penny buns about two weeks after they show up. Mostly under Oak trees. In the fields there are lots of different Wax Caps I don't take these either some you can eat some you cant. These I believe to be Golden Wax Caps. Never had any for a feed today, still some interesting stuff about and loads of it. Cheers Arry Edited October 21, 2024 by Arry
