Now remember I'm still learning as far as I understand low tone is probably iron a sharp high pitch tone is none ferris. This should be a clear sound and the same signal at 90 degrees with no dull sound or click like sounds. I will probably get put right on this one. When I first went out I was digging square nails and plough shears and every piece of junk I was knackered. Down load the manual of Minelab site mate. Some good YouTube information. I put coins and rings on the lawn pass the detector over them and listen to different tones and note the numbers. Hope this helps mate.
