Don’t it eat away at everything? Remember a lad doing it to a tractor a few years back an it kicked off big time haha

It’s terrible stuff, it doesn’t half do some damage to seals in the fuel system and if you put fuel in the ad-blue that’s just as bad, when I was on the trucks all I ever did was ad-blue and DPF faults, quite a few of the repairs were in the thousands, when they first came out I’d find drivers pissing in the tank because they thought it was just pig piss

some wizardry that is meant to make the exhaust fumes cleaner I think mate, lots of newer diesel engines have them. Not sure about petrol ones but don’t think they do, we got a few tractors a that that use it, but it goes in a a diff tank to the fuel an usually has a blue handle on the pump so you know not to use it as fuel ( or atleast ours has)

it’s basically water and urea with a few other chemicals

It’s added to the exhaust and when it’s heated it turns into ammonia which breaks the Nox down to into nitrogen and water ( or something along those lines)

On my recent trip up north I had an Ad Blu fault come up (21 plate Berlingo, 40K miles) took it to a mates garage, diagnosed as injector for Ad Blu pump, said once one bit goes, another does, and by the time you've replaced all the bits it's about £4K.

Can get them remapped for anything up to £400 which removes the need for Ad Blu and is not a factor in a M.O.T.

Cheers, D.
