donnyc 1,203
0000 grade wirewool and oil that will do it Quote Link to post
Coney 3
As donnyc suggests 0000 fine wire wool to rub dowm the affected areas then a good wipe down with a good quality gun cloth, I use a "Abbey Universal Sportsmans Cloth" I find using this after a shooting session and just before I put my rifle away prevents rusting and corrosion and also repels moisture and dirt. Abbey also do a "Blu-gel" to repair rifles that have Blued Barrels etc and a Abbey Silicone Gun Oil 35 thats more or less universal, find them on www.abbeysupply.com Hope this helps Coney. SteveieP 0
Not preaching at you mate but there's no surprise that if you leave a piece of damp iron lying around, it goes rusty. Use something like a dishcloth type of rag soaked in engine oil & polish it hard with that. Don't leave your kit wet / dirty, wipe over the metal parts with the oily rag, then you're good to go for the next time Quote Link to post
Tyla 3,179
Sorry to hear about your gun, do NOT use a rust remover as it will also remove your blueing which i assume you dont want! Oily rag and elbow grease is the best way i think. Good luck! Quote Link to post
Malt 379
Very fine wire wool & WD40 or 3-in-1 oil, & polish the area. Quote Link to post
targa 5
Graphite oil and polish with wool. Works nice Quote Link to post
shottyscotty 3
try hammerite rust remover but make sure u try it on a small area first to make sure it dosnt harm the metal Quote Link to post
AIRGUNNER 1
3 in 1 oil will do the trick lloyd, as soon as i get home i also wipe the gun down no matter what the weather :thunmbs: Quote Link to post

I use Napier VP90 on a cloth & never had a problem on the suspect AA blueing. Quote Link to post
celticwar 1
i always clean my guns after ive prep my kills for dinner .dry it off then gun oil apply with soft cloth .that way if you do get caught in a shower it just runs of .. when i buy new gun i always strip stock of oil under neath stop it rusting where you cant see..... sounds like minor prob [bANNED TEXT] if you left it in a loft or damp garage for years it would be bad but if it was over night just rubb hard with gun oil .
