leegreen 2,153
Sounds like he will make some good dogs, but i would certainly go fo a taller bitch as you will lose some size in the cross. The non-ped Whippet is the way to go. It will make a more all round dog. Don't worry about the size of your dog for mating. An associate of mine accually picks his dog up and holds it till its tied, it is a 17tts whippet and he puts it across track Greyhounds. A 21tts dog should easily get a cross a 23 24 25 or 26tts bitch with a platform of some type. Quote Link to post
juckler123 707
Get the right pup out of the litter and they are brilliant but there will be a lot of litter wastage ive seen a fair few litters bred from small whippet types and them that had the whippet build were special imo Small dogs that could get through brambles on the rabbits run game for anything and everything Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
3/4 whippet x 1/4 collie, would be a better cross, in my opinion. The breeding has to be their first. I had a first cross whippet collie, she was fine on the lamp, but not good for daytime bunnys, she lacked speed and pace ect, but a great nose. Pic of her below, taken back in 93. Not the best of pics, they were scanned. Quote Link to post
