As in got live rabbits and released to get an established population? Got some lovely land near me at least 61 acres perfect grazing fields and woodland cover and sandy soil hillsides but no rabbits. ( There was rabbits back in the 80s until area they where was cleared however theres huge stretches without. Currently has foxes , badges , voles , mice etc ) 100% it will work done it myself over the past 15 years works well as long as you give them 2/3 years before you hit the land Quote Link to post

I have caught Black Rabbits in this area for over 60 years and never saw a Black one with Mixi though i have caught them with it in other places. The owner of this farm caught 300 Rabbits a Week from September to the end of April mainly by Snares and the best price he got was 4 Shillings [20 pence ] a couple in 1952 during the Meat shortage . i Thats a really interesting concept of getting shop bought but showing the right attributes and realising and seeing success. OldhamLad 66
Btw loving the photo drops and everyone getting stuck in with their thoughts and experiences. From what im seeing it looks positive and reckon something needed to be seriously looked into! Quote Link to post
Bobtheferret 1,248
I don’t see why it wouldn’t work I know a chap that said his land was devoid of rabbits and he dropped a few and says now there’s loads. Probably want to either do it where there are existing holes and physically put them down the holes or when there is plenty of cover so they have some protection from the foxes etc. As mentioned it is illegal though so don’t get caught!
