Tyla 3,179
I've got an hmr on the way to, hopefully, deal with some longer range corvids that are causing me problems. I've not had one before and am interested in recommended zero range please. I know they shoot flat and hate wind and have shot a few mates ones in the past but never set one up Quote Link to post
Stavross 16,603
I love these little rifles and own 2 of them, I zero mine at 50 yards to start with and then take it out to 100, they are not as affected by wind as some think, I had my cz with me a couple of days ago and the lad that was using it was hitting rabbits between 70 and 220 yards with a stiff breeze 1 Quote Link to post
goldfinger 135
Great little caliber, great for "lets get the rabbit problem sorted", don,t tend to push mine above 140 yards, as Stavross says start at 50 then push out to 100 on zero. Quote Link to post
Tyla 3,179
Cheers lads. How flat is the trajectory? I'm more used to deer calibres and a .22 for anything else. The crows have got a bit wise to the .22 though hence wanting a bit more range. Quote Link to post
Stavross 16,603
They are flat and fast for the first 100, I will put the crosshairs smack on a rabbit between 60 and 120 yards ( I use them for pest control so perfect head shots are not what im going for ) above 120 to about 160 I’ll rest the crosshairs along the top of what I’m shooting at ( there’s about 3” drop using 17gn rounds at 150 ) above that I start using the mil and guessing a bit, they say there’s no drop up to 100 but once you pass 100 they drop off quickly, once you get about 200 you will probably get about 8” of drop Edited July 29, 2021 by Stavross 7 Quote Link to post

That's with a 50 yard zero or 100? Quote Link to post

That’s with zero at 100 but to be honest it wouldn’t be far off zeroed at 50 because I found there’s very little adjustment taking it from 50 to 100 1 Quote Link to post

Stavross 16,603
To be fair I had one and was offered the cz along with his cabinet, ammo, few hundred cartridges and some other bits and bobs for £200, so I thought sod it, 24 hour variation and bought it, but I see where you are coming from Edited July 30, 2021 by Stavross 1 Quote Link to post
