I'll never forget years ago I was working in an office here, which was as international as you can get. One day, I'd only been working there about 3 days and I was going up to the office in the lift with a bunch of Germans. Suddenly I spotted the plaque with the lift engineers details on. Well fuuck me, I burst out laughing uncontrollably. One of the Germans (who also happened to be my direct boss) ask vtf is wrong with you. Me, with tears streaming down my face, trying to get it together just pointed at the plaque, while still creasing against the side of the lift.... The plaque read "Schindler's lifts" ffs The Krauts were instantly and noticeably very nervous about this mad Englishman, in a suit, who's been there 5 mins and already making war jokes, in a confined space, with about 5 them and obviously didn't give a fuuck... TBH that set the tone for my working relationship for the next 3 years with ze germans

Based at the end of Hollywood’s golden era it’s a good film with a brilliant cast, it’s loosely based in real events but with a twist. Watched it again today and was reminded how much I love the end scene when some of Charles mansions murderous cult decide to break into the main characters house (in reality they went in next door and killed Roman Polanskis pregnant girlfriend Sharron Tate ). Anyway the final scene features said hippy murderers getting it handed to them by a stunt man, his Pitt bull and a pissed up fading actor with a flame thrower enjoy! I went to Benedict Canyon last week, the house no longer exists at Cielo drive, another has been built on the huge plot.I also tried to visit a few locations from the robbery movie Heat, the ones I found have totally changed, nothing stays the same for long in LA. Didn't he make his own porno and release it . The guy didn't give a shit . He had a great look for a criminal for films . Piercing eyes The whole film was great , val kilmer wasn't bad in it either . The guy who ratter them (biker looking guy) . Sure their was something dodgy about him in real life aswell De Niros 30 seconds speech imprinted in my mind . Not because I follow it but it set out exactly the discipline he needed to function as a top level criminal Always felt sadness for pacinos character aswell , everything in his life turned to shit almost to the point he was so far into being a cop that their was no way he would change himself
