Car Insurance

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for cheap car insuarance... I'm nearly 17 and about to start learning to drive, I have been offered an N reg 1.3 Fiesta, for free... So I have been looking for insuarance and its ridiculous... 3rd party fire & theft with my dad as a named driver... £1001.95 is the cheapest i can find...! I understand its gonna be a bit pricey, with me ticking all the wrong boxes... but does anyone know if theres a company worth trying?

Thanks

I was under my mothers name when i started, insurance is cheaper for women. I had a 1.0ltr VW POLO and insurance was roughly £770 for my mother and me all in. But insurance companies have been b*****ds lately and say that if you are the main driver but put your parents name down as the main driver this can void the insurance, as its so called 'fronting' watch out for that.

I'm with directline and found that cheapest for me, currently driving a 1.9TD estate car and its £700 odd for a yr for me alone. I've beeen driving for just over 3yrs now. I got a bit of discount as i've been with directline since i passed.

i found quinn expensive the quotes ive had off them. directline and kwik fit seem the cheapest last few days ive been looking. but even then kwik fit were 1.5k on a 1.2 clio, but thats fully comp. found them prices on the compare sites, money supermarket, confused etc so hopeing to get another few quid off for the pass plus course if i call them up. some of the quotes ive had have been mad!

yep only me on the policy. one of my mates recomended quinn aswell, thats why i got a quote off them but turned out nothing special. passed it a few months ago, been looking for a decent motor and only just found a decent, honest one. another mate is paying 600 quid ins for a metro and thats with directline. dont know if its just the car that its so low or what but its a real good price anyway - same situation as me, first car aswell!

thanks, i used confused, money supermarket, and the like thats where i found quinn offering me it for a grand... I'll keep looking, i was hoping that i'd be able to get insurance on a car so my dad could sit in with me whilst i was learning... maybe i'm unlucky cause of where I live or something...?

Thanks
