I not sure mate, I vaguely remember them from being a kid but was fishing last week with a pal who does al that sea fishing an he said grab a worm out me bag mate, they wrapped in paper, I opened this paper parcel an near jumped off the rocks in water ? I asked him if he was being serious an he just laughed, I asked how do I kill it first an he laughed again, I had to take a proper deep breath, an then to wrap it all off I had to climb up a fcukkng cliff cos sea come in an cut us off, an old iron ladder, I’m scared of heights aswell, I won’t be back in a hurry that’s for sure, I’ll stick to me spam an flies as bait ?

We dig king rag sometimes, more likely to get bit by the smaller ones. Kings are slow imo.

Alot of the marks we fish we have to use a rope and there's a few with ladders in place. I'm not a fan of heights but you get use to it.

Our southern coast is much this this ,and we have lost a number of fishermen from the ledges ,once two guys were climbing down a heavy duty rope which had become rotten over time ,it broke & both guys dropped straight down bouncing off the rocks to disappear into the sea never to be seen again .On the southern tip of southland the seas roll up from the roaring 40s big ,bad and very cold ,still we climb down cliffs to fish means the area wont get much fish pressure ,we just do so when conditions allow this to be done safety.

Same reason we fish these places, no one else does.
