The best microlight flight I ever took was in the Himalayas, absolutely breath taking.I flew with a bloke in Thailand who was teaching a Chinese lady, his engine cut out and he managed to glide into a school field,he was a cool bloke so very calm, she thought it was part of the lesson.

The bloke who loaned me the suit had sold a microlight a few years previously to a bloke who had a couple of lessons, only a couple, then took it up solo stalled at a thousand feet or so,he died.

Playing with those things can only end one way .

Theirs a small airport close to one of my pigeon shooting permissions,  and they regularly fly over the top of me.  They make me shudder.😣

As weird as this might sound I actually feel safer in small aircraft than I do in a Boeing or airbus I think it might be because I worked in aerospace and there was a lot of parts that weren't conforming yet still made it on to aircraft lol

There was a bloke set off from UK maybe 15 years back in a microlight to fly to Australia,he crashed and died in the channel,I was going to buy one as they can take off and land in a short stretch,I was going to fly across the channel for sightseeing without going through Dover.

yup,the only time I ever had a “What the f**k am I doing with my life” moment in a light aircraft was a gyrocopter (with a pilot who was scared of heights) going up a steep sided Nepalese mountain valley,if something had happened it would have been sayonara.

I rember the old British army bags the down ones the feathers used to move to the bottom of bag lol

The bag after around the Bosnian war time that was a good one I still have it with drying pockets on the inside and burst out zip with the gortex over bag which I never bothered with.

I remember the very bags had the down one and still use the 5 season one with the interior pockets and crash zip, the feather one was in the early days when we still smoked solids and mine was full of blim holes used to be sat in a cloud of feathers every time I got in it,had one with sleeves and a fold up bottom end so you could walk in it but it was pretty shite,  the other one I’ve slept out in minus 5 wearing just my kacks no probs like you have never put the gortex cover on despite having several of them, as I said to mackem I use army gear over other stuff as they cant just go home if things go south, have several bergans in different sizes army sleeping bags and cotton combat have kept me dry and warm for years

I'd be that pilot 😁.

I'd love a go in a helicopter,  as long as I'd didn't go any higher than about 6ft 😁.

It's funny really because I've happily driven a car at 150mph , and probably ridden a bike even faster , but you'd never get me in a plane , or submarine.

The gyro was a little two man job,the pilot didn’t want to go above 400 feet,I actually asked can’t we get altitude,he said if something happens I would rather be lower than higher,it was a foggy day in a steep sided rock floored valley.

That's a fantastic looking piece of kit , and I'd love to have a go in it , just as long as we stuck to the 6ft rule 😀

Got to be honest it was fantastic,I got some footage but it’s on my laptop in the UK,but going close to mountain rock faces and it was windy and I knew the pilot as I had met him in another country so knew his fear of heights I did have a “why am I even here?” moment.

Hi guys , bit of a long shot , but I’m due to imminently move to the plains of my people and have heard rumours of a firemonger of weapons ??
He is said to be a purveyor of the uks finest steel tomohawks and one of the last true dwarf weapon masters
if anyone can point me in the right direction , I’d be greatly pleased

I want to purchase a pair of boots for the colder weather, I do a lot of walking, and some trekking about the hillsides and trails. I do not want "winter boots" but rather boots that would be suitable for a cold day, but would work with layers of socks rather than thick heavy boots. Several people have told me Meindl is an excellent brand, and that is great, but what kind ? Hiking ? Walking ? Do they make them that they would serve the purpose mentioned above ? Any specifics to look for in a boot for this purpose ?
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn

Sorry gentlemen to bother you, but I have come to my wits end. My neighbour across the way lets her dog roam as it please when it comes to shitting and urination, she is too lazy to actually take the dog out herself. He seems to have taken to my property and a certain area just under my bedroom window. I do not want to hurt the dog for the sake of her ignorance, but I do very much need to stop him from doing it any longer. The grass and  the shrubs are dying and turning brown and the flowers are just rank with smell that floats up through my bedroom window.
He is a VERY OVERWEIGHT beagle and leaves behind some damn good deposits.
I am wondering short of doing something stupid, what can I do to deter the dog from that area or any patches of garden I have? I plan to go to the council about the problem, and lay some of it on the town manager who is an acquaintance of mine, but in the meantime, any tricks out there to make my flowers and bushes unsavoury.
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn
