I was searching on YouTube looking for camp spot ideas in Derbyshire a while back and came across this video. I flicked through the comments as I usually do whilst it was playing and noticed some 'strange goings on' mentioned at a spot on Bleaklow by a fellow camping YouTuber which was acknowledged by the guy( Chris JB) who's video i was watching.  Obviously I wanted to know what these strange goings on were so I made a comment to both guys asking the question.. which they never replied! I've since deleted my comments. Anyone got any ideas what they are referring to?? Both these fellas are very experienced campers and well up on wildlife knowledge as far as I can tell..

It's a head scratcher and I need to find out!! Lol...

Below is the chap who's video it was.. as he says.. he's heard about these strange goings on so something must be known about whatever it is they're referring to with the wild camping circles..

The actual vide if anyone is interested..

Any ideas folks??

No worries mate.. always good for a bit of big cat chit-chat here.! Yes, I did listen to that episode with the journalist from Derbyshire on. It's nice hearing places mentioned on there that I'm familiar with. I know Carsington fairly well and last time I was here I cycled around as part of a bigger ride. It's cracking countryside with loads of cover but I must say I'd never heard of the 'beast of Carsington' until now. I remember visiting Riber Castle too, must be over 20 years ago, when they had the Lynx there.

Sorry GM.. it's a while since I listened to that episode. The film you mentioned.. is that the thermal footage? And those campers that where hearing thing were on Bleaklow Moor. Funnily enough.. if a few things go to plan I'm camping out over that way this weekend!

No mate I think its an American tv program about a downed plane, but somehow they have caught wind of local big cat story’s, the thermal stuff will be going up on the podcast soon,

Ah yes.. I've got you now mate. I Googled it a there's ghost sightings and other nonsense up there! Lol..

I think my money would be on those campers hearing an unfamiliar animal or bird up on those moors. We might get to find out on day!

Looking forward to hearing about the thermal footage mate. Very tempted to get one to be honest. Have a bit of fun camping out in the middle of nowhere with one of those!

Sound mate thanks! I find it handy in the gym watching something like that to take my mind off things and stop getting bored to death when I'm doing a bit if cardio. Not that I actually go to the gym that much.. but I do have plans!! Lol..

Just got a jacket, pants, top etc for trekking in Quebec and northern Ontario between now and Christmas, the jacket is probably the best down jacket I have had quality wise, feels warmer than a Canada goose, and very light weight, couple of weeks time temps will plummet but I don’t think I will be cold.

Hi guys , bit of a long shot , but I’m due to imminently move to the plains of my people and have heard rumours of a firemonger of weapons ??
He is said to be a purveyor of the uks finest steel tomohawks and one of the last true dwarf weapon masters
if anyone can point me in the right direction , I’d be greatly pleased

I want to purchase a pair of boots for the colder weather, I do a lot of walking, and some trekking about the hillsides and trails. I do not want "winter boots" but rather boots that would be suitable for a cold day, but would work with layers of socks rather than thick heavy boots. Several people have told me Meindl is an excellent brand, and that is great, but what kind ? Hiking ? Walking ? Do they make them that they would serve the purpose mentioned above ? Any specifics to look for in a boot for this purpose ?
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn

Sorry gentlemen to bother you, but I have come to my wits end. My neighbour across the way lets her dog roam as it please when it comes to shitting and urination, she is too lazy to actually take the dog out herself. He seems to have taken to my property and a certain area just under my bedroom window. I do not want to hurt the dog for the sake of her ignorance, but I do very much need to stop him from doing it any longer. The grass and  the shrubs are dying and turning brown and the flowers are just rank with smell that floats up through my bedroom window.
He is a VERY OVERWEIGHT beagle and leaves behind some damn good deposits.
I am wondering short of doing something stupid, what can I do to deter the dog from that area or any patches of garden I have? I plan to go to the council about the problem, and lay some of it on the town manager who is an acquaintance of mine, but in the meantime, any tricks out there to make my flowers and bushes unsavoury.
      Thank you in advance,
      Lynn
