hence the Merle colouring coming out in pups the cream liver colours have Merle pattern on the coats and there is a blue Merle there to 

Like this x ,I got a first x bedy grey and thinking of putting a collie type over her, bit of collie in the mix goes a long way .

I have a beddy/grey x collie/grey bitch there does me well it does go well together the two. And certainly gives them a good weatherproof coat

The beddy and collie really puts a coat to them pal trust me.. been out in the worst of weather with mine and the rain just runs off it it’s sort of a double coat

look good strong healthy pups. I have always favoured a rough coat believing it more weatherproof. then a chap pointed out a good thick smooth coat is better. he didn't mean like a whippet he said like the smooth collie coat. I think he had a point.

Called a  'slape' coat...alot of the smooth patterdale types have it

My pup has it she’s few generations of Beddy whippet and has a smooth coat but it’s not totally short and thick skin

It’s like half way between short coat and broken coat
