I've owned about 4 different dogs that killed 5 hares daytime only prob once a colliexgrey my first dog me and 4 brothers took a hare home each for the pot another my deerhound x only once in january double wire fences no dykes or ditches another my lurcherxgrey bitza mongrel only once all were capable of 3 but average at best it's been about 3 years since the last time I killed 5 but I've seen plenty do so i wonder how many these top dogs do it regularly. Atb my the saluki is the king of coursing but I bet a few of our old dogs have killed alote more gear than they ever see . Some dogs wont get the chance a good hunting dogs has  got it killed before the party starts ????????

I think back in the day a lot of places where there was double fences etc , the hares were easier.  The hares didnt have to out run the dog but rather use the obstacles to evade capture.  This type of land was normally pasture land . And as such is easier to rum and turn on . A very good dog could bully the hare away from the bad fences and the races were usually at the minute,  minute and half . Whereas where mchull runs it's a test of endurance.  Yes a good dog can kill anywhere . But bring a fen dog up  to most places in Scotland that's never been taught the wire . You will blank . Take a top dog that only runs ayrshire paddocks,  and it will blow its tank . Horses for courses ?. In January

Seriously now Brothers...?  Sometimes, we all 'cop the needle' over the silliest of remarks,...words uttered by complete strangers, and often by guys who are on a completely different wave length

That's the point fellah,...you don't mess about with the ferrets, and we don't run the big land, with purpose bred coursing dogs,.but, we all have a voice on the Hunting Life....

Well, I am relieved that you are not going to go the other route with me fellah,.. you sound as though you are a bit of a desperado,...and at my time of life, I don't need to mess with a tough guy lik
