done a bit of that myself...me and me old poaching partner even knitted a net by hand just for the job....

There's an old story in the sunderland echo, a garden centre near Chester le Street had its big goldfish netted one night, whoever did it took a pond liner, ornaments, plants, everything to make a really nice garden pond, they carried so much they left a hand knitted net behind.

? Taken a lot of rabbits over the last 60 years with various working dogs,....but, under the spotlight,..I would think that 78 with my Sadie , back in the 1980's would be the most that I've grassed in

try again.. 63 taken the night before ....took this pic before we set off ferreting

It's not allways about numbers. Not to long ago, I was lucky enough to be invited to the Cairngorms for a weekend, by Northernlite and Taysider. We had a fantastic time, but one naysayer moc

I have had lots of fish from the Test, probably some of the best looking trout going,at £500 a day peak season people wouldn't settle for less totally different from stocked lakes, seen some fish coming out of stocked waters with three old flys still hooked in their Jaws and tatty tails.

I know a Ghillie or 3 on that river...catching a double figure Pike on the fly,is something I'd like to tick off the list, had quite a few carp on the fly??

The test is a beautiful river to fish, if you get the chance jump at it,but as I found out if it comes on top jump IN it ?

Years ago, Ryton Council in their wisdom decide to build an outdoor swimming pool.

Of course it was far to cold most of the year up here for people to use it, so the Council decided to stock it with trout and have fishing.

Some pals of mine, drinking in the Darkies Bar, just the other side of the Tyne, decided one night to stretch a net across the deep end of the pool and walk it up to the shallow end, and completely emptied it of fish.

It was never used again as a swimming pool or trout pond.

Cheers.

Something ive never really understood is clearing them with nets ect maybe salmon and seatrout but never really wanted to empty a river its abit of sport sneaking about with rod and dog. Maybe if a river keeper went over the top i could be tempted but wouldnt like to see it barren

Russia is OK mate, but I can't imagine that fishing camp is doing much foreign business at the moment. Went to Russia years ago, prefer Canada to be honest.
