I started with covid symptoms this morning and have a positive test. I pretty much keep myself to myself and wear a mask and I still somehow got it. It feels like iv been hit by a bus I can hardly move and ache so bad everywhere even moving my eyes is agony and iv never felt so cold in my life. 

I'd keep wearing a mask for the time been I wouldn't wish this feeling on anyone.

As I said mate, I wear one out of respect for those who would feel uncomfortable if I didn’t. I will ask, in many situations, can we take masks off ? But I see old folk braving it to the shops like they are going out into a nuclear apocalypse so it must mean something to them. F*ck knows what the score really is, but I’d be sad if my Nan went to the shops and some young bloke stood next to her was more worried about making a stand than upsetting her.

I stopped wearing a mask today. I had more or less worn one in shops etc but that was it and today should have been freedom day and I won’t be wearing one again. They don’t even work and I my opinion actually spread it with the constant taking them on and off. Stop you breathing and communicating, horrible bloody things.

There is currently no evidence that wearing face masks weakens the immune system in any way. It is also nonsense that CO2 would accumulate under the face mask and harm us. The CO2 molecules are so small that it is no problem for them to go through the mask. Only bacteria that you exhale yourself will stay inside the mask. If you use it properly and wash or boil it after each use, there can be no significant multiplication of bacteria.

Nor is there any evidence that the masks can cause any diseases. The only possible health problem caused by wearing a mask may be an allergic reaction of the skin to the material from which the face mask is made (if you suffer from such an allergy).

I enjoy a bbq just fine and don’t have to wear a mask ? I don’t quite understand mate ? It’s a self choice thing out of public places ? Like if my mates come over for a bbq we don’t wear masks, but would in public? If boris Johnson went into Tesco’s he’s probably wear a mask.

To me wearing a mask is like wearing shin pads, i probably won’t get a broken leg but they are available just in case.

But wearing a piece of cloth over your face won't stop you catching it. It could even make it more likely. 

In theory wearing a mask will stop your breath spreading as far so hopefully not infecting as many people, so it does have a place. But at the minute and how it's being used is insanity. Random pieces of cloth, warm and damp, being touched dozens, if not hundreds of times. Walk in a shop put it on, walk out pull it down. Even going to the pub involves half a dozen touches of warm damp germ filled material. Get up for a piss/shite and you put mask on, walk in and out of bog pulling mask up and down touching doors, chairs and tables. They aren't even proper masks. Most of the medical style ones even say made in China on em and the words 'not for medical use'

Ppe is supposed to be treated as toxic once its used, not stuffed in your pocket until the next shop.

I'm not preaching, I understand my mask routine is fairly stupid.... 

I wear full on ffp2 or 3 masks near dirty fckers who's germs I don't want to catch but I'm not that bothered around people I see as cleaner. I understand I could catch covid off anyone like, but one source of corona seems less minging
