Me and my girlfriend will get a call to go pick up a baby critter and usually it goes along the lines of use looking over the animal while the people who dropped it off go on about how nice it is we rehab animals. Some where along the lines the fact I'm a trapper comes up and I gets these deer in a head light look like " wait ! You kill animals ?! You hunt and fish and trap and all that but your here picking up a baby skunk to rehab?!" I usually just shrug and say yeah I do but I love animals show pictures of the grey fox possums and coons all my dogs and so on and agin they just kinda stare in confusion. By the end up it I've usually end up giving a lecture on why hunting trapping and fishing is important and how most of us care more about critters than most of the peta people.
It always seems to be like a big revelation to folks I guess that we can be like that. Was talking to one if her aunts today and showed her a picture of my grey fox sitting on my girls dad's shoulder and she said with as much as he kills fox and deer and coyotes and everything else would she ever think hed have a little gray fox loving all over him.
I don't know y'all I just find it odd and kinda fun to mess up peoples perceptions like that

I don't know y'all I just find it odd. Seems Disney hay really got people thinking that if you do anything other than send a check to some animal rights organization your some blood thirty murder.

I put some pics up the other day on my facebook of a squirrel and a crow a game keeper i know has reared from bold youngsters, the squirrel is running loose and has a tree box to sleep in and the crow is also loose to do what it want's and both go running/flying to him.He kills hundreds of vermin every year but god help anyone they harm these ones,a few of my old hippy pals just can't see hunting/fishing/shooting being beyond just killing shit and were amazed by the pics...

Mate of mine had a tame fox which he reared from a cub. Had it years till it started to go at his birds of prey so he gave it to a fox rescue somewere. He now has a pet muntjac even tho he shot loads. And he found a weasel 12 months ago that he built full enclosure in his garden for. People call him hypocrite all the time he just laughs at them.
