well after owning a .25 bsa 10 years ago i have been missing shooting those big slugs.allways found myself looking on guntrader.so one came up in hereford which is not to far away so i went and bought today.gun was set up in the shop and i part exed a hw45 silver star so the cost was kept down a bit.35 minutes later i am up the range and trying to zero my new toy.eventually had to stand at about 15 yards to hit my target.lots of adjustment later and the big bore is near enough.did a 1" group at twenty yards with it standing.probably about 40 shots in that group so not too bad.she does twang a lot though.put a total of about 100-150 pellets through the gun in about 1.5 hours and by that time i had enough.too tired to hold on target after that.will be looking at tuning it after about a thousand pellets.lots of fun to shoot with those 20+ grn pellets wacking the spinners.did have a go at 50+ meters and hit my target(bottle top) after 3 shots after working out the holdover.all in this little airgun that will be a real nice shooter in the not to distand future.

shot nearly 200 pelets through the little 80k now and it is not the easiest beast to tame.groups at 50m standing are about 4.5-5" not bad for a start i suppose.is it me or are the new 80,s lighter than the old models as it does feel lighter than my 95k.will be banging those big slugs out of it as much as possible to try and calm it down a bit and to improve my technique with this particular air rifle.i do really like the fact you do not have to fumble about to pick up those 6.35 pellets unlike the little 4.5mm,s.

Nearly ordered my new crown in, 25

But I know what I'd of done to it if I had of 

Can't say what on open forum lol

Iv seen what 25 can do in fac 

But sub 12 not to sure

So went for 22

Yerr, .22 is better all round at 12ft lb. I’ve had a couple of 12ft lb .25’s , still got one. They’re ok at 20-25 yards but I’ve found that they don’t seem too accurate at longer range. I’m reckoning that maybe they aren’t carrying enough speed and start to lose stability, I could be wrong?

My point exactly 

Higher speed is needed for, 25

And when they have it boy do they hit hard 

Iv shot, 25 out to 150+ yrds 

With unbelievable accuracy 

With ease Dev 

It's like having a bullet gun but with air lol

Yerr, the .22’s are with slugs, I was hitting a golf ball consistently at 100 yards with relative ease, and they hit hard

well the little .25 was i thought running a little hot.took the air rifle back to the shop and got them to chrono it.they did this and even put the pellets on the scales 19.7grn not 20.06 as stated by h&n and power came in at 13.5 ft/lbs.feck so back to hull it goes and no more big bore fun for me untill it comes back.only put 250 pellets through it in a couple of days so maybe it was up to start with.pity hull did not check the airgun before it was sent to the shop.

The .25’s go over easily. I stripped and polished my striker, added a small piston weight and when I put it back together it was shooting a lot nicer. Shot cycle was better as well. Put it over the chrono and.........oops, back on the bench. It’s running at about 11.8 now with marksman but it shot nicer before. Shame really, but that’s how it goes. It’s still much improved from as it was standard before it was tuned and polished. I think they’re designed to run at about twenty, and they’re detuned to run below twelve.

had a similar problem with my theoben evo in .22.it was down on power and i did not know how much air to put in it.checked the power and it was nearly double.could not let out the pressure fast enough to get it back under the limit.

I’ve got a sirocco and put some more pressure in using the slim jim pump that came with it. I thought I’ll just top it up a bit closer to 12, so I did, checked it on the chrono, eek. Had to tap the valve and let some out.....

should have added that the last 80k i had in .22 that was tuned had to go back to the shop 3 times to keep getting the power put back under the limit.
