If you google fire arms certificate it will tell you all you need to know but you will not be able to buy a shotgun untill your 17 yrs old hope this helps.

Most Police Authorities have their own website.

 

Some are very good, others are terrible but I suggest you look up yours and then look up the firearms section, a bit of digging will tell you everything you need to know.

 

If you are really having a problem look up the Thames Valley Police, their site is very good for info on firearms/shotguns.

i thought you were still aloud to own one if you went out with someone over 18. not doughting your knowledge just asking

 

 

Technicalities of the wording....you cannot go out and buy one until you are 17.

 

It is possible that someone else can buy you one with certain control conditions at a younger age!

You can get a certificate under 17 years old, but if you need to be supervised when shooting or can't buy a shotgun or cartridges on your own - then you may aswell go shooting with someone who has a certificate and just apply for your own when you are 17 or older
