I reckon he could teach most pure whippets a thing or two. First x whippet Russell. Probably not as fast as a straight whippet but hardy, clever and brave. I wish I could have him back at that age aga

I think the thing is with the beddy an modern day stuff the original stock is getting shitter an shitter people don’t keep to a type for the work they expect from the beddy there only interested are in the names in the breeding of old dead dogs that could an would.  ie there breed a digger to a busher a busher to a pet a pet to a dog used for ferreting then to some other feckers dog that sniffs holes to do ? mark photos to bang all over fb then to a dog that’s killed a few rats then to a someones young pet just because it’s got old names that were good dogs back in the day an expected good dogs to be produced the thing I find ironic is you can get a beddy pup with all the names under the sun an it will still be shit then you can go get a bedlington x fell or other terrier an it will produce handy dogs but the beddy click will give that person shit saying it’s not a beddy

everyone I know with beddy blood Lurchers won’t touch modern day bedlington blood in straight form they get there bedlington blood out of proven hybrids/Lurchers they let every other fecker do the leg work with f1 Lurchers only folding in out of dogs that can do the job

Aye I think I’ve seen them but thought they were Lurcher to Lurcher bred but must have been wrong. I remember the old heartbreak fell dogs ? They seemed to be proper vermin dogs. Mostly got for fox. Most likely it’s just the rise of the Beddy x as the rich folks lap pets and arrival of the bull blood which helped push them off the map. If I wanted a Beddy type now I’d get a Lurcher x Lurcher bred animal probably with some collie like yours or bull
