Wolfdog91 7,097 Posted June 15, 2021 Report Share Posted June 15, 2021 Man I'll tell yall I know alot of woman who will buy something the second they feel the need it but my gf is the only one I've met to buy a dang thermal scope We're sitting on the front porch after getting back from eating ( weekly date night ) and after talking about we decide " you know what would be fun ?! Let's turn off the porch lights and see what's moving around with my night vision!" So I get my NV (ATN xsite II for those curious) out the car and we proceed to look at the possums and racoons coming out the wood line owls in the trees and the rats running around her chicken coop ( she lives 40yd from the wood line of 30 acres of woods with a creek running though it so lots of wildlife on her door step). Great time. Well she starts asking how to make my scope see body heat. I tell her it can't that's a thermal she wants but their kinda expensive. She says ok hands me the scope and pulls out her phone . I'm counting rats saying how I need to bring my pcp and she's asking what's a good brand for thermals, what if she just wants to look and not mount it on her gun yadda yadda. Well I'm explaining all this and I'm hearing Lil snippets of " These aren't that expensive" " Ooooo I like that one" " That looks cool" "Hay that's the one we had" ( she's former LEO) Didn't think much of it till she's turned off her phone and said " yay it'll be here Friday !" I turn around and ask what will, figuring she ordered some shoes or a outfit or something. She turns her phone back on and shows me her Amazon orders and she's went and ordered a $650 Flir thermal monocular I proceed to ask why in the lords good name she just spent $650 on that and she just shrugs and says in the most sassy way possible " I have play around money and I wanna thermal to play around with so I bought it !" So yeah apparently next date night is gonna be her spotting me with the thermal and me shooting rats with the NV Anyhow just figured somone would get a laugh outta this 4 5 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

A replacement for one I lost, funny thing is she went and found out exactly which one it was and got it me for my birthday. She has no idea ablut these things ... In saying that, I daren't even look at her Amazon account, wishlist or even open the door when the delivery driver comes.
