I'm not talking about legacies, I'm talking about running and catching hares.

It's not just his style, the dog was given monster slips on top class hares and just oozed class.

You are arguing about dogs you've never seen fella, I'm giving my opinion on the dog, from the footage I've seen of him I haven't seen better, if you can show me clips of dogs that you think are better I'm more than happy to give my opinion.

Foxy.

63 matches unbeaten back to back.

Not on you tube though is she ??

So you've made your opinion on reading some books mate?

What about the accounts that claim Lucky is the best they've seen, this is off lads in the game.

She might have won 63 matches but how can you say she wouldn't have had one less victory if she faced Lucky?

Again, I'm commenting on what I've seen on video, Lucky is the best I've seen from the footage I've viewed.

That's all I can say with what I have

I suppose there were a few dogs running around the same time as lucky that were killing as many hares as lucky but it was his style that made him stand out

Can't that be said for other dogs though?

How can anyone claim this and that is superior going off hares ran in different places at different times, it just isn't black & white like that.

At the end of the day you are matching against the hare and not other dogs in reality.

Maybe there has been better dogs than Lucky, who can say for sure.

I'm only going off what I see with my eyes, it looked a very special animal.

You actually get the point Im making that the dog was a dog rather than a bitch  and a good dog to watch with his style. Hence he stood out.

But you haven't seen Lucky run so again how can you say?

Again, I'm not talking about his legacy from what he produced, I'm talking about the dogs capabilities at hare killing.

What point, Lucky being a dog has no bearing on what I'm seeing with my eyes.

My eyes tell me the dog was a class act and ate up those monster slips for breakfast against very strong hares.

From what I heard lucky was good in the slop but Gary told me joe preferred easy going half an inch of sink, when joe matched foxy heavy ground couldn’t do much with hares but foxy killed 2, it was pissing down the day joe matched foxy and Gary said joe hated the rain and wouldn’t run so good, he said when our for a walk if it was raining joe would curl up and put his paws over his eyes ?

Definitely as people kept thinking that they were going to get a dog the same regardless of what they took to him .

I am fond of that lucky stamp of dog but there were too many jackers bred from him IMHO at the time and people are looking back with nostalgia , Lucky was running 20 years ago , there was  better dogs than him running at the time , Look at the calibre of bitches ran by Sankey alone and Lucky pales into insignificance.

There,s been far better dogs than Lucky Since. You dont need to do the time warp

I only have his excellent runs to go off  . Videos . It's the dogs brain I admire . I'm sure there were times where his style actually went against him . I personally run dogs out of romeo . So the bitches you mentioned of sankys are more to my liking . I reckon it's more the man behind the dog your getting at . Would I use Lucky over one of my bitches.  No pal . But I do admire him
