I remember Max Hardcore entering a retired coursing bitch in one of the lamping competitions, and evidently it brought the rabbits back to hand as fast as it went out for them.

Now, don't get excited mC, that was an exception, I've seen very few Salukis or Saluki hybrids do that ! ?? !

If they where trained to retrieve they wouldn't be scanning, just coming back with game

but daytime it isnt  dark they will retrive but scan and just drop the facker when the see something
