i run tricky land and open land gl 

 

on that land sheep put up your whippet hasnt any cover to loose the hare in  has it it will get straight lined the hare can really open up use all its gears

Oh ok  if I had a purpose bred and I couldn’t condition it to kill numbers on that land I’d give up on life what I wouldn’t do is keep banging em over on land where Steve Mac queen couldn’t escape from

This has turned into an amazingly lengthy thread?

The subject is obviously very important to a lot of guys..

I've scant understanding of these phenomenal coursing dogs,...but my close friend has an almost Encyclopedic knowledge of both the early breeding, and the contemporary bloodlines...

He is kind enough to educate me when the fancy takes him,..alas, I make a poor pupil...?

What I have noticed, is that these stunning canine athletes are starting to become, a recognisable type..

It is obvious that a certain specific appearance and physicality, suits the tasks laid before them..?

Come on lads shake hands. 

At the end of the day if you don't want to travel you go for a dog that best suits the land you run, in reality you'll always find a dog that's more capable in certain conditions. 

As long as they are catching hares on a regular basis that's all you can ask.
