Saluki's and their crosses.

I remember the owner of possibly the greatest non-ped stud dog, Bilko, saying his only regret was not putting the dog to a Saluki, keeping a bitch and putting that back to a non-ped, hoping to keep the speed and add stamina.

Yep, that's what we all would like; speed AND stamina !

Cheers.

speed ?grey may add a bit not a whippet i dont think mate when you see a good whippet and a good coursing bred slipped together on arable charts the whippet never leads ?

I'm talking about non-ped whippets, nothing like ped whippets, and if you think any dog can lead up a top class non-ped, you're dreaming, but I'm sure you're on a wind up. Either that or you've never seen a non-ped ! ?

Cheers.

?whippet with plenty a  greyhound seen loads mate  i agree some have good early but wet arable good coursing bred they still wont be much in chart and after a bend the coursing bred will be on another level mate

ive seen heavy greyhound nearly full get towed right across the land to cover mate you slip 200 yds the grey has 2oo yards to make up before the hare gets 200yds further on or its a straight line i seen it loads mate

I wouldn't disagree with you about after the first bend, but you said a whippet never leads up, I agree again, but as I've pointed out, I'm talking about non-ped whippets, a completely different animal

You don't seem to be able to differentiate between the ped and non-ped whippets, I have owned and ran both, and pure Saluki and coursing bred and most other types of running dog, and I'm speaking from personal experience.

yes, of course no one is arguing that the Saluki hybrid coursing bred is the best hare dog, but to say they will allways lead up a non-ped Whippet is very naive and i'll reiterate, you are either on a wind up, or you have never seen a good class non-ped ?

Cheers.
