I can see that collapsing, legs splayed out akimbo if the fella removes his hands

I see a young lad proud of his young hound, then looking beyond the initial glance I see a leggy sapling with plenty of bone in its feet. ? A saluki,  galgo mix.

Would def look better standing naturally

Yep, certainly would.  Look at sandymere's hounds, same thing, crackers.

And let's not forget, A LOT of saluki/coursing types are horrible looking things.  ?

Who keeps the wooly type sal bred runners

Horrible, poxy looking things that need to be clipped.  No dog that needs to run for two, three or four minutes, needs such a heavy coat.  Hence the need to clip them.  f***ing silly.

Almost 13 year's since I joined this forum,it's great to see that topics such as this are still just as prevalent today as they were then ?..the old desert dawg's,like marmite some love em,most hate em that's just how it is ..good to see people's views regarding them especially those that have ran them..I'm not going to lie I hated them,I seen dozens run back in the mid to late 80's & 90's there wasn't a single one of them that was even bad, they were ALL utter sh##e!! Why were the ones I seen so poor? Has the genepool dramatically improved? I don't honestly know? Roll forward a quarter of a century & here's me with em,I've moved the goalposts in regard what, where & how I hunt & I'd never own a dog without Saluki blood in it now..I'm a convert,it's dog's for jobs & they excel at certain things & being honest are rubbish at other tasks,im not kennel blind or one to promote or dismiss how good a type is without testing it fully & imo Saluki blood is paramount if your main type of work is daytime other than for possibly a bit of ferreting..we all seek that 'perfect' running dog,I first got to see my first back in 1977 so 6 decades ago now & I'm yet to see that dog that excels at everything.. keep the topic going folk's,it's enjoyable ?
