I've always classed a good hare dog a dog that can catch anywhere on any going, should slop dogs be classed in that bracket?

Lol a dog run catch hares on the slop definitely won't struggle on the top going ?

heavy mud it's easier to catch a Hare ..

I'd say good soft is easiest mate then after a bit a rain if it gets sticky they can ball abit

Once it's proper wet say after snow frost thawed very few can cope mate very few

It’s the heavy going which sorts the proper dogs out from the average, it’s like you jogging up a road for a mile or so or jogging in sinking sand for the same, which would be harder ? . Running for 2 minutes in real soft ground would be similar to a dog running for 4 mins on the firm, wet black land in the most testing for any dog because the hares feet don’t clog up with mud and because there light they skim across the top while the dog is sinking in up to its wrists and has to power through which is energy sapping

What runners have folk got ready, any first seasoners ready to go?

Mine, this will be her first full season. She had a few bunnies at the back end of the season and a couple of runs before the fields got high.

Really looking forward to see what she's about..
