Mod selection

With my new FX Verminator on it's way within the next couple of weeks (I think) I need to sort a mod. Now my buddy has ordered a sub12 version, why, not sure but anyway he is going for a Huggett the same as our Jimmy has on his Verminator which according to the sizes given to me by Jimmy sounds like a Belita but mine is a .22 fac running at 18fpe max, considerably leass than normal .22fac however just right for what I want BUT the mod is not so straight forward as the fac Huggett are designed for upto 100fpe and somewhat over kill for this gun.  

The Verminator comes with a shroud and an M20 x1 thread, as do all the FX shrouds so therefore my obvious choice would have been a Weihrauch but they are only available with 1/2'' unf thread and even with some connector, it would look a right pigs ear. I do have an A&M M20 thread that I borrowed from my rfd so I can try that when the gun comes and either buy that or buy a new one but in all honesty I have only used Weihrauch and Swift Stumpy mods, the FX guns have all had shrouds / mods fitted so not sure which way to go with this. I do want a quiet gun but don't need an overkill mod weighing a ton and over half the length of the barrel.

Any suggestion please boys.

Well they say things change fast in the world of FX................................................just found out they have with the Verminator, only 10 left in the system and that is the end of production, no more Verminator and no new replacement on the horizon, feck feck feck  order for our two is cancelled as we are not going to pay £1160 for an obsolete gun unless the wankers at Sportman want to supply at half price.

I am somewhat annoyed as the order was placed nearly three weeks ago so they have just sat on that information, oh god, what a great shame ASI ever lost the agency to this pile of crap.................

Now back to the drawing board, I think the Wildcat Mk3 may be the way to go as I understand I can reduce the power at the dial from 40 -12 fpe so perhaps a better bet and has the Superior barrel liner plus the far better magazines. I know they shoot well as I have had two so no issues there.  What is the bet that they are out of stock and a waiting list of 6 months.

I will still need a good mod so the question still stands.

You need to have a go with my priest 2 or my pals prophet as for mods I've got the twink i think it is the mid size one my pal has the marksman and nothing in it difference wise on his fac prophet running just shy of 60 8n .22 he can adjust it between 10-65 just on hammer spring adjuster or reg adjuster

I think that is the route Mitch but looking at their web site, no bloody stock so I need to establish delivery time but believing anything that they give is noy exactly reliable to say the least.

Is the HW mod any different to the ones now fitted to all hw100 and 110 guns.

This HW mod does as well Allan my mate has one on his FAC Dreamliner , so quite and only 133 mm long

I have a SAK and a Wildcat Panther so will try those when the time comes.

I must admit that I would never look at Pellpax as I support my local rfd and generally don't like supermarket rfd businesses but they do have a couple of things on there that interested me eg. plain barrel converters to replace the one on my s200, thank you for that, at least I can give the details to my rfd for him to get and if not then for a tenner, I would get one from them.

I’ve got three sections of an a-tec cmm-4 rimfire mod on my impact and it’s really quiet at 40ft lbs, this makes it quite a short but effective mod. The wildcat panther won’t quite fit over the fx shroud unfortunately.
