New gun, old gun, got rid of gun.

Recommended Posts

After some incidents with my new hw110k laminate and returning it to HC, I decided I was not having it back so instead I did a deal for a new FX Verminator .22 fac as I really like the power levels on this gun.  I did however want a sub 12 for in the garden and a bit of ratting at a couple of local perms.  I simply couldn't afford to buy a new sub12 although I did like the look of a couple but needs must and the credit card was staying clear and in my wallet.  My rfd said he had a couple of wrecks in the back, one being an S200 Mk1 or 2 (no idea how to tell) for a small sum and cut a long story short, I bought it.

The stock is not what I would have done but it is okay apart from the crack seemingly repaired but still needs sorting.  The metalwork is not great and needs a good clean to see just what we have under the crap. I have given the barrel a good clean although I would like to run a bore snake through with some solvent cleaner as I feel it could do with further cleaning.     I actually quite like the single loading but may still go for a magazine conversion but firstly I want the bolt taking off and really cleaning as it can be a bit snaggy.  I cannot seem to remove the bottom part of the mod which is held in place with a set screw but even when that has been removed, it doesn't shift.

I have found that I can buy a replacement Air pressure gauge/quick fill and also get a reg to fit either internally or an external fit unit and those two items I like the sound of.  I do need to just turn down the power level a touch but not sure which way the nut / screw turns to reduce power,  anyone know.   I have been filling the air up to 200bar but not certain if that is right so again if anyone knows, that would be helpful.

I have been trying a coule of scopes, an old MTC Mamba Light which is the perfect size to sit on the rear and front rail leaving a good space to hand load the pellets however I think the scope is knackered for various reasons so I popped on one of my Hawke Airmax Compact scopes as shown in the photo but it is just way to short to have my head position correctly placed on the stock so it will not be staying on.  I will possibly get an AO Hawke of some type but it must have fine cross hairs as many do not and whilst I by far perfer side focus, it is off limits at present.

I am experiencing some slight variation in point of impact by only a small amount but something is not quite right and even though I have taken a dozen rats with this gun, I am not happy yet so that needs looking at by someone who knows what to look for.

I must admit that I really do like these split stock S200 rifles and the 6fpe .177 that I used to own for bell target shooting was a tack driver, this one not so as yet.  I will keep an eye open for a T200 stock to replace this one but the chances of findling one is pretty slim. I do enjoy this little gun and dearly want it sorting for my garden / close range ratter so it is time to make a start in my very limited capacity as a fecking usless technician ?

Been thinking of one if these for a few weeks now.  Not had a pcp since I sold my 110 ST a couple of years ago, due to the power issues, that loads of people have had, and are still having.  Was going to get the 110k about a year ago, but started reading reviews of them having the same problems!  Shame, as I loved everything about my 110 and was even more eager for the 110k.

I have had two other 110k guns with no issues at all and the same applies to my pal who has had two standard length versions but both of our new guns had very large power variations so they have both gone and will NOT be replaced with another at any time and that is sad as I loved my 110k's, super quick handling and bang on accurate but there are so many problems now, we are not prepared to take that risk again, after all they are nearly £800 and with Weihrauch's experience, nobody should have to put up with this shit.

100% with you there mate.  Weihrauch being a premium brand/manufacturer should absolutely make sure that the guns they send out are as potentially problem free as possible.  But I, yourself, a good mate of mine and countless others, are experiencing more or less the same problems the last few years.  And, as you quite correctly state, these air rifles are certainly not cheap!
