breay 0
just welped my second litter of paterdales and with the first lot had a problem getting the docked. a vet who would not give his name through the dock breed sociaty want to rip me of of £250 half what i sold the litter for. i was told to get it done my self witha razor but declined. father of litter i own is not docked and dosnt really look daft should tail lenghth matter to work ability Quote Link to post
Guest DeeD
Take a 1/3 off. Tail length doesn't matter to working ability. Quote Link to post
B.L.B 0
Me and a mate talked about this a few days ago, we agreed that a 1/3 off was the best. but it dosen't matter to working ability so its up to yourself i spose. Quote Link to post
Kane 2
IMHO a full tail is prefferable to a tail docked stupidly short, but a tail docked to the correct lengh is definatly best.If the tail is naturaly short a 3rd might be to much if the tail is naturaly long perhaps it wouldnt be enough. If your not confident to do it yourself get an experianced trusted [bANNED TEXT] to do it. Guest Stevie D
Think I would have found someone to do it before they were born, if I wasn't doing it myself. Some folk might not be willing to take an undocked pup, hope you get rid of them ok. Stevie Quote Link to post
