chartpolski 24,571
I remember about 30 years ago, walking from Tokaroa to my relatives house about a mile or so out of town one evening and the fields were just like that video, absolutely heaving with rabbits ! I said to my brother in law, "if I had one of my dogs here with me, I'd be over the fence, have half a dozen rabbits, and be away before anyone saw me ! " He replied " go in the pub and ask if anyone wants rabbits clearing, and the farmers will pay you to kill as many as you want !" I remember thinking how different it was back home ! Cheers. 5 Quote Link to post

Cheers. that is so true ,no ones interested in chasing them ,ferreting to dogs or net ,they would rather chase bigger game animals so landowners for 99% of the time have to pay .A mate who came out here from wales by the name of billy Barton now makes his living chasing rabbits ,he relayed to me it was like living a dream & he had to poke himself to make sure that it wasn't . 6 Quote Link to post
