Iv got the Garmin 320 , need 2 new collars one a terrier chewed and a extra one for the pup that’s coming in , is it worth just buying a dog trek or sporting dog? Anyone used Both and have a preference ?

I use a garmin myself but if that broke a would go for a dog trace nothing special just a compace no a lad using one said good for the money 400 quid handset and collar not bad

Got a dog trace x20 a few months back, great bit of kit, basic just a compass and tells you in meters how far away the dog is. Great value for money

What distance are you getting with the dog trace before you loose communication

Have the garmin alpha 100 and the sportdog tek2.... sold the sport dog as did my mate after using my garmin. A lot more features, user friendly and seems very reliable

Only trouble I’ve found with the lads using the sport dog tek 2.0 they tend to loose signal when in thick wooded areas and remote areas like Forrest of dean which isn’t good

Same question for the sportdog owners... “what distance you getting before you loose signal”
