Used for moles and voles.

Sounds about right. They are sold under a couple of Teutonic-sounding company names  .

All those springy wire ,gopher ,vole and mole traps remind me of the annoying little key-ring type puzzles that used to come in Christmas crackers. Probably an age thing

Personally I don’t think they’re man enough for the job

i think they use the term vole because it’s illegal to trap moles in Germany and some other parts of europe

Damndest thing! I was having a bit of a shelf clearing session today. In what was once my pest control store room.

Bit of a tangent, but I think moles are a protected species in Bavaria, requiring a permit to trap them.

Interestingly on genuine talpex packaging, the German language description reads as 'Wuhlmausfalle' which translates as 'vole trap'.

All very confusing, because I bet voles are protected there as well, and in any case, a talpex for a vole is like using the proverbial sledge hammer to crack a nut!
