What's everyone opinion on in breeding lurchers. I've litter mates 9 year old dog and bitch both working 100 percent I bred the bitch to a dog two year ago but the pups didn't turn out  the way I wanted them to. Mother and father and grandmother and grandfather to these dogs were really good workers and I've no relations to these dogs left but want to keep the line going would yous recommend full brother full sister mating

Yes most definitely. If both dog and bitch are fit healthy dogs then its the right thing to do. You wont regret it. It works the same wether its birds cows rats mice.etc ect.

Decent beddy blood is handy enough when it’s crossed in to sight hound it’s mute unless entered to quarry wrong

Even if you cloned a stand out dog it's not the same animal as the original, it would have to go through the exact experiences in it's career hunting. I think put the bitch to a similar but unrelated dog then put the brother over a bitch pup kept, even a youngster at 2yrs is a better option if you want to keep a healthy line.

My mate has parson whippet crosses that almost never bark or yip even when running something. My Parson is the noisiest dog generally? but is mute when hunting.
