Magpie 102
Jolly good. We all look forward to your informative and positive opinions on the subject in the future. However I'm sure I read somewhere back on another post of the same nature that you usually stay out of such threads as you cannot stand the sycophantic b***s**t that gets spouted about Hancock. Shame you don't take your own advice. All the best my dear. Quote Link to post
Guest SJM
Well someones got to educate the poor misguided and steer them towards the light I will keep doing the job til my releif takes over I did think it was falling on deaf ears, but then I had a pm recently off someone looking for a genuine collie/greyhound off working stock and I managed to point them in the direction of a lad on this sites pups, I would say his whelps are a safer bet than anything reared on Mr Hancock's farm I will continue to do what I feel is helping people find a pup bred from working parents this is after all meant to be a working dog site Quote Link to post

Guest SJM
Cheers its good to know its not in vain Lepus I have owned a Hancock it was a bitch I bought in years ago, she was a good little rabbit dog but she had some serious faults and she wouldnt have been able to live with the collie crosses I have these days. Your right though I havent bought a pup off him, but I have seen people who have, and also a few Hanocks owned by lads who have come here to hunt over the years. Out of all the Hancocks Ive seen work I have only seen one good un and that was Mackays bitch Bess, cant say a bad word about this bitch, but I do think on the whole there are much better places to buy a genuine collie greyhound. I see colliejohn there at the bottom of the page, he breeds some nice collie crosses off working parents, theres other lads who do too. It pays to do your homework and shop around when buying a pup which if all goes well could be your friend and hunting companion for the next 10+ years. I just like to remind people there are other options open to them Quote Link to post

leegreen 2,150
I think what SJM is getting at and I'm sure she has a good point is that Hancock is not out doing the do and there are others that are, these people sould be looked at aswell. I have met only three Hancock dogs over the years and they were ok, good workers(a bit slow), but I now know of a lot better ones. Take your time see whats about, I'm not saying don't buy his lines but make sure the parents are proven yc. Edited January 15, 2008 by leegreen Quote Link to post
