So breeding, parents working ability, genetics, early rearing and socialisation are nothing to do with the equation then? Oh well might as well all ditch our prized workers and opt for rejects from the cat and dog home, or streetwalking latch key mongrels or any old dog with a bit of shape to it then, cos none of that matters its just what you put into the dog Quote Link to post
danny 0 Posted January 15, 2008 Report Share Posted January 15, 2008 I went to see hancocks about 3 years ago and came away with a beardie colliex out of tweedle dee an what a great dog, I still have him now and he takes everything day or night, he's grown to about 26" so a good size. Personally i dont think his kennels werent the best but they are by no means in bad condition. i'll sort some picks out an put them up. Quote Link to post

Guest SJM Posted January 15, 2008 Report Share Posted January 15, 2008 Well if thats the case then I agree with what your saying about the owner having to put effort in to get the best from a dog, a decent dogman will put the time in with a pup and give it the best chances possible, but even this isnt enough if the basic ingredients needed arent there. Good training, feeding and entering will make the most of a dog but I still say you cant make a silk purse out of a sows ear or a better way of putting it is you cant polish a turd Quote Link to post

No ones forcing it on you. The guy was asking an honest question about one of Hancock's stud dogs not asking for poison to be dripped in his ear. It doesn't matter how good a line the dog comes from or how old the working line is, if it's in Hancock's kennel it must be shit, yeah right.
