My goldies are getting lively now but I'd say they're still a way from condition, have you had lights on for them?

Yeah mate I've Arcadia bird lighting. The birds aren't out side there in my home in a spare room. I've turned it into a birdroom ?

Just woke up to second egg. I'm abit worried tho I've no feeders down yet I've a canary hen with chicks and doing good think by Monday or mid week they'll be on sticks. How many days can you keep fertile eggs. I'm thinking of putting a few under canary and a few left with her just because she's a first timer don't want her messing up  lossing all the eggs or chicks. But if she rears the few then it happy days. I've Mexicans that have built nest but no eggs as yet a few pairs have reared before in the Mexicans. Really a should of held back with the Goldie's and got a round in but when birds are ready there ready a could hear him treading her.

I've only had 1 pair of mexicans who never did anything for me and I certainly wouldn't trust the mad b*****ds with sibo eggs.

I'd hold them until a canary is ready like lurchers said they keep a while. Some say turn them every day and some say it doesn't matter.

I've been told Mexicans are best feeders as well as glosters. Mexicans more so because they eat alot of live foods shovel snap down. .  " A once put some under an Irish fancy hen hatched them but couldn't keep up with the demand of feed mate lost five chicks. I've a few feeders different species just none ready. Am in two minds of putting them under this Irish hen if she goes back down after these chicks move onto sticks. Only because the timbrado cock she's with is a top cock bird. He's great as a feeder loves all live foods not fussy what snap you put Infront of him. I'm filling egg food cups at least 8 9 times a day and there empty no spillage at all. Meal worm shrimp egg food brocs , carrot ,oregano ,turmeric , chill flakes , and orange squeezed plus Fiono paddy and blue maw. There's none left in bottom of cage
