Pre ban I have  a hunting dog mate for hunting I expect it to hunt catch whatever it’s slipped on I always get the most joy from daytime big rab the dog really has worked its socks off come winter

Even when we was kids even rab fox deer normal mate you went home hare you carried it back beaming all the way home This just me mate

Why would I run a leveret unless dogs out on walk summer by accident

Probably but your talking of a all rounder used for a bit of everything rather than just sticking to one quarry an grading just on that alone I get what you saying

Also having re read your post I don't think you can really compare many dogs unless it's something like daytime competitions; nothing else has rules to it. Your dog that's used how you ferret may look crap because I ferret a different way on different ground. Same as you might run fox/deer with a red filter only removing it the last second and my dogs never seen a filtered light. You might drive the ground with your dog running beside for rabbiting.... There's too many variables to compare dogs imo

No I'm not, you said they all rate the same and 150 rabbits is more impressive than 40 foxes but chances are that 40 fox dog will do 100/120 of those rabbits but that rabbit dog may not do 10 of those foxes. They're not all equal imo

mate we on the same page No dog is better than another with all the variables in there it’s only on the man with the dog on slip can say if it’s good or not an that’s based on what that man needs for his land an what suits him or her to another man the same dog can be that mans turd

no mate saluki cross some like lurchers but they spot things far and once hunt mode on your not stopping it even if speck in distance

Very true, dogmen have probably been arguing over who's dog is better since we tamed wolves, sort of like an ancient tradition, lol.
