Plenty of land but the rabbits are getting scarce around here in NSW. I agree with the UK breeding, cattle dogs and dingoes as lurchers and I'd starve to death.

You’ve already asked me before ??‍♂️
Because it’s a fecking mongrely thing that’s percentages favoured to base higher it’s been worker to worker lurcher to lurcher bred for years....your own words yourself in the past on here you can’t keep going Lurcher to Lurchers without dropping a bit of sight hound now an then??‍♂️ The times come to simplify things I’m happy with what my bitch is doing for me I want to line breed the type as it suits me to the ground with my bitch as the base blood to a greyhound hopefully keep a bitch or 2 that then down the road if it’s any good can go to my bitch Now’s brother. I wanna stick to what I know works for me bit like you with your saluki blooded lines you stick to what you know works for you with dabbling on gamble bred dogs you have no real history on ??

Here’s one to play on the other foot if a dog is useless because its only used to catch rabbits (I’m speaking in general)were does that leave specialist dogs used for just one roll deer, fox, pigs, hare, rats if the owner has no interest in nothing else bar the quarry he/she has the dog for?out of all these quarry what is the most valued I think in my eyes any quarry caught by your dog/s has the same face value as a catch is a catch none rates higher than another were purpose bred is concerned 1 is 1 so the way I look at it is a man can go do 40 fox or what ever a season with his purpose bred killing dog but a man can go lamp and catch 150 rabbits with his purpose bred rabbit dog who dogs worked the hardest? I’d say the rabbit dog because that’s it’s purpose an there’s a higher body count but you can’t through the shoe on the other foot because it don’t fit when it comes to purpose bred dogs you can only compare like for like dogs for there specialist game. ?

Problem is if you’re only keeping a rabbiting dog and then saying you’re lucky to see two rabbits a night ....... as good a rabbit dog as it might be it’s kind of a bit pointless. I love rabbiting day or night, probably some of the best sport you can get. But at least some other specialist dogs can have a lot of stuff out in front of them. This season my main dogs catch rate on rabbits is 100%, he caught the one slip he had.
